The Smiths
There are wedding days that feel sacred from the moment you arrive — not because of grand entrances or elaborate details, but because of the quiet, steady presence of God. That’s how it felt being apart of Claire and Hudson’s wedding day. Since the moment I got to the getting ready space, there was such a calming presence over everyone. Claire and Hudson were both peacefully getting ready with their family and friends, and even in the small quiet moments — laughter while getting hair and makeup done, hugs from mom and dad, putting on boutonniere — it was clear that this day was already soaked in grace.
Their wedding was held at St. Lawrence Chapel in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. From the outside, it’s gorgeous — but stepping inside, you’re met with aspects that can only point to Heaven. Statues that depict the saints, beautiful stained glass that pours in soft, golden light, and the quiet stillness that only comes from being in a holy space. It’s the kind of space that invites you to lower your voice and slow your breath. The kind of space that reminds you God is near.
Claire and Hudson had chosen the Traditional Latin Mass for their nuptial liturgy. But it wasn’t just a preference. It was a desire to be immersed in the supernatural reality of the sacrament. From the very beginning, their hearts were fixed on Christ being at the center of their wedding feast. And it did. The intention in their wedding was a beautiful thing to witness — all of their wedding aspects chosen so carefully.
This wedding reminded me that holy things are often quiet. That reverence is radiant. That two hearts centered on the Eucharist will always reflect something eternal. As a Catholic wedding photographer, these are the days that bring me so much joy.
Claire and Hudson, your day was a glimpse of heaven. And it was an honor to document it.
